Our new Horsley Park site has installed a state-of-the-art high speed filling lines to enable faster production in manufacturing Household and Laundry care products with a capacity to fill approximately 14,000 bottles per hour. About this opportunity Working closely with the site Manager at Horsley Park, the focus of this of this position is to design, implement & maintain systems to ensure process safety, efficiency, and purpose for our manufacture and filling. You will collaborate with cross functional teams to evaluate workflow, identify bottlenecks, and propose solutions. Accountability includes testing and monitoring of equipment, maintaining system processes, conducting process risk assessment, determining, and writing procedures. This position is responsible for site process engineering & development, engineering & improvement projects, and plant machinery maintenance. Your key responsibilities will be to: Lead and drive liquids chemical plant commissioning Lead and drive liquids filling commissioning Lead and manage all plant (chemical and filling) MOC processes including scoping and recommending solution and implementation. Perform comprehensive process simulations and optimizations to enhance operational improvement, process efficiency, and productivity and improvement. Develop and review engineering deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and process control philosophies. Conduct risk assessments, HAZOP's/SILs and develop strategies to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying them appropriately in project designs. Set objectives, plans, and schedule multiple projects to accomplish defined objectives to meet manufacturing goals. Develop and improve existing processes and methods for control and troubleshooting of manufacturing technical problems. Ensure equipment uptime through the expedient, effective resolutions of production equipment problems to meet customer service objectives for line fill rates. Troubleshoot issues related to quality, lead implementation of changes to correct. Your skills and experience To be successful in this role, you'll have: Solid experience in batch manufacturing from chemical, paint, pharmaceutical or food industry including a deep understanding of CIP steam and chemical systems. Knowledge of Batch control software. Previous use of ignition is an advantage. Demonstrable knowledge of how to scope a commissioning, a methodology for tackling the commissioning and the ability to resource plan for the skills required i.e. commissioning, electrical, control, mechanical, safety and external stakeholders (building owner, authorities etc) Direct experience in managing external parties i.e. process design, electrical, control, and batching software. Excellent analytical, project management, and leadership skills. A steadfast commitment to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability Demonstrable experience in establishing (correctly resourcing) and leading HAZOP's (or SILs) Experience in the design and installation of Safety Systems including risk assessments, zoning, mechanical installation of the stops, software programming, testing and SOP changes Experience in using the Theory of Constraints (or similar) to debottleneck and drive production volume and efficiency. Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen, with the ability to translate technical insights into actionable strategies and plans. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and permitting processes is desirable with strong familiarity with industry standards and codes. Strong knowledge of Maintenance, Process, Production Engineering and Technical Services / Validation required. Ability to respond to changing priorities. Ability to prepare budgets and control expenditures. A keen eye for detail Strong ability to question the status quo and challenge the business positively Advanced SAP and Excel experience Strong interpersonal, communication & presentation skills Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical /Process Engineering or a related field. At least 10 years of experience in process engineering A professional engineering license or eligibility for registration is preferred.
