About the role Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer (Underground), the key function of the Mining Engineer (Underground) is to generate mine designs (stopes and development) to support operations and generate mine plans and schedules. Key Responsibilities will include: Maintaining and promoting safe production Delivering practical mine plans to operations as required to meet/exceed targets Undertaking project work for operations Providing engineering support to operations staff Participating in stope reconciliations for improvements in drill and blast methods Conducting assessments of all hazards associated with operations Maintaining awareness of environmental risks and obligations around the underground mining operational areas to be able to identify at-risk activities Utilising specialist advice as required (eg: water, ground disturbance, waste management) and including controls in designs Commitment to living and supporting the Evolution values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect Being a part of our culture of safety and continuous improvement. About you The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in mine engineering or a related discipline, with previous start-up experience being advantageous. You should possess an understanding of the NSW Regulatory framework, including Safety Management Systems, PHMPs, and PCPs, along with underground operational and risk management experience. You must be adept at identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems, and proficient in communicating information verbally, in writing, numerically, and graphically. You must be able to establish and adhere to work standards, develop excellent relationships with peers, leaders, and subordinates, and be self-directed to achieve individual, team, and organizational goals. Experience with mine design software, particularly Deswik CAD, Interactive Schedule, and Schedule, is also required.
