We are currently seeking an energized and influential Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the Open Pit Mining Department at the residential KCGM SuperPit operation in Kalgoorlie. You will lead and assist the Geotechnical function to ensure the provision of high-quality Geotechnical services. Working a 9-hour day on a 5:2, 4:3 roster, this permanent, full-time, Kalgoorlie-based residential role, allows for great work-life balance, and an optimal lifestyle in the Goldfields. Key Accountabilities Provide leadership, through coaching, mentoring, and support for professional development activities, to members of the Geotechnical Group. Supervise, coordinate and review/evaluate activities carried out by less experienced geotechnical engineers and technicians. Review and report regularly on the Geotechnical performance to ensure management, and other key stakeholders are kept informed. Contribute to mine plans and designs to ensure maximum ore recovery with continued compliance with ground management plans. Monitor and make recommendations regarding Geotechnical systems, processes, and outcomes to ensure that they continue to add value in providing an acceptable risk profile for the business. Monitor operational mining activities to ensure compliance with the life of mine (LOM) Geotechnical plan. Ensures Geotechnical services provided by external contractors/consultants are delivered to KCGM to the expected quality standards and in accordance with the contract conditions. Comply with all reasonable and lawful instructions that are consistent with your contract of employment. Be an industry leading professional and be instrumental in making a positive difference to the company. Be integral to the continued success of the company through forward- thinking. Provide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/eliminating high priority hazards. Guide, participate and support stakeholder engagement activities. Manage existing and new client relationships and undertake proactive business development activities. Manage, analyse, and carry out geotechnical reporting for projects. Requirements Essential Solid (5 to 10 years) experience in open pit Geotechnical Engineering. Experience in a leadership role. Geotechnical experience in hard rock and challenging slope environments. Demonstrate experience in the preparation/review of written technical reports and client communications. A strong work ethic and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment. Proficient in mine design and Geotechnical analysis software. A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in Geological Engineering/Geology/Mining Engineering with appropriate Geotechnical experience. Relevant Professional Association membership. Current Unencumbered Western Australian "C" Class Drivers Licence.
