College Office Administration Officer- casual — Castle Hill, The Hills District

Gilroy Catholic College, Castle Hill is seeking someone to join the college office administration team on a casual basis. We need a professional team member who enjoys a variety of tasks and can prioritise them, communicates efficiently and effectively with all stakeholders and uses common sense. Whilst it would be advantageous to have worked within a school environment, it is not essential. Your previous administration skills and experience would be highly regarded. Familiarity with Google Suite would be advantageous. Training will be provided for the right person. You would be asked to cover staff sick leave or holiday leave during school terms only. As a valued team member we do understand that you have other priorities that must work around these requests. Please note: this position does not involve any classroom student support. The Level 4 Student Services/Administration Officer reports to our Business Manager. The focus of your role will be to support the Administration functions of the school when requested. Your responsibilities will be but not limited to: The main point of contact for all College students Interacting positively and professionally with a helpful and cooperative approach to students, parents and staff College student attendance data, communicating with absentees; updating and maintaining College’s Compass system with student information Provide frontline support service, in identifying and resolving student concerns and issues, ensuring that the necessary referrals are made efficiently and professionally Management of Excursion/Event notifications via Compass. As well as, preparing and supplying first aid kits and any relevant medical requirements for all off-site activities and events, including sport Management of students sick bay and liaising with parents for student pick-up General administration duties as required Essential criteria: A flexible and service orientated approach Be able to demonstrate professional conduct, maintain confidentiality and exercise discernment at all times Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills Ability to balance and resolve conflicting priorities and have the capacity to multitask, whilst maintaining attention to detail The ability to work autonomously with minimal direction Competence and confidence in using a variety of software programs including Google platform, MS Office. Compass desirable but not essential A current First Aid Certificate or the willingness to obtain. This position involves working with children.
