The Communications Branch is responsible for CASA's communication activities. This includes broad public and industry consultation and communication strategies, media engagement, website and intranet management, social media channels, safety promotion activities, graphic design, video production, sponsorships and event management, and development of Plain English Guides. Reporting to the Creative Team Leader this role provides expert advice regarding innovative approaches to graphic design, user experience design, and print management. The Senior Graphic designer ensures that marketing and communications materials meet the requirements of the CASA visual style guide and is consistent with the design interpretation of the CASA brand. The role will provide expert and timely creative advice to ensure high design standards in safety promotion products, encouraging them to be used and valued by the aviation industry The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for the following deliverables, which represent an ongoing body of work: • Working as a member of a small team to design materials for print and online distribution from concept development to execution to meet business objectives. • Ensuring that all visual communication and materials are consistent and meet the requirements of the CASA style guide. • Working collaboratively on projects, providing expert and timely creative advice to ensure high design standards across all of CASA products. • Distil complex and/or technical written information into effective visual communication products (such as diagrams and infographics). • Provide ongoing advice and user experience interface (UX) design ideas for digital channels, including development of prototypes for various user interface elements. • Apply CASA branding guidelines to ensure effective and consistent campaign and product execution. • Under limited direction, lead the design and typesetting production of a range of publications such as annual reports, corporate plans and Flight Safety Australia magazine. • Ensure materials for publishing comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility guidelines and Digital Transformation Agency recommendations. • Develop and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally including with business subject matter experts as well as external agencies and freelancer designers. • Appropriate management of time and workload to ensure both delivery and quality of the responsibilities and deliverables meet CASA's expectations; and • Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA's Values and Behaviours. The key duties of the position include Our ideal candidate will have must demonstrate the following: • Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in design and typesetting for (print) and UI/UX (digital) design experience for online products. • Demonstrated experience using Adobe Creative Suite software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and XD, FIGMA or other prototyping tools, in a Mac OS environment. • Knowledge of Australian Government online standards and experience in their application, particularly WCAG 2.1 AA and the Digital Services Standard or ability to learn quickly. • Exceptional visual communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information graphically to non-technical audiences. • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills including the ability to manage stakeholders and deliver outcomes that meet business objectives. • Excellent time management skills with an ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks/projects with changing and competing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail. • Qualifications in graphic or visual design would be highly regarded. • Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.) • Promotion of workplace safety, equity and diversity, and act in accordance with the CASA Values and Behaviours
