The Covert Support Unit's innovative and adaptive team is based at Queensland Police Headquarters 200 Roma Street, Brisbane City. The Unit has the principle responsibility to create assumed identities required for investigation and / or intelligence gathering concerning criminal activities throughout Queensland and Australia. The core capability requirements for this role are: Apply legislation, policies, and procedures in relation to the acquisition and use of assumed identities, including that of corresponding Commonwealth and State Agencies. Contribute to the development, implementation and review of systems, policies and procedures which support the provision of services relating to the acquisition and management of assumed identities. Identify, implement and perform quality assurance and risk treatment functions concerning the backstopping of assumed identities. Manage the effective maintenance of the Covert Support Unit's data storage and filing systems relating to assumed identities. Maintain confidentiality of files and information relating to backstopping and assumed identities. Establish and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure discrete and effective service delivery. Role Requirements: Mandatory: Applicants must be able to obtain a National Security clearance of Negative Vetting Level 1 or achieve a similar security vetting. Special Conditions: The successful applicant/s will be required to maintain and apply a very high level of security consciousness concerning interactions with stakeholders. This position will involve access to both covert and sensitive information The successful applicant/s will be required to undergo a psychometric assessment prior to appointment. If successful, there may be a requirement to undergo regular psychometric assessments. The successful applicant/s will be required to perform duty within any group/unit and location within the Brisbane metropolitan area where the Covert & Specialist Operations Group conducts business.
