Job posting end date: 06/27/2024 Introduction We are seeking a Design Team Leader to join our Chute Solutions Engineering Team. You will be responsible for leading the Australia based detail design team. This includes a team of four direct reports as well as on occasion managing contractors. The members in our team are located in Australia and South America and we collaborate well together. In this position, you will report to the Engineering Manager. This role can be located from our West Perth, Forrestfield or Beresfield locations, and may involve up to 20% travel. What you'll do Plan and schedule drafting works to meet deadlines. Delegate drafting/design tasks to the design team including 3rd parties. Provide practical drafting and design solutions, which are compliant to engineering standards. As a Key user, develop understanding of systems processing knowledge to assist in testing for changes and improvements. Participate in team problem solving and knowledge management . Provide training development of new team members for harmonization as required. Design innovative solutions to industry requirements. Contribute to day-to-day design activities including but not limited to 3D modelling, 2D drafting and associated quality checks. Deliver strategic competitive advantages through design innovation. Ensure on time delivery of design and drafting. Accurate recording and storage of design documentation. Assist with new opportunities for Metso's products and services. Assist in the development and delivery of technical presentations/papers as required. Assist in the completion of and when required complete 'As Built' documentation and "installation & operation manuals". Maintain an organized library of products. Liaise with all internal and external Customers with respect to drafting/engineer Who you are Essential Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. Minimum 5 years' experience in bulk materials handling, mining associated design, mine maintenance or engineering. Good time management, planning and organisational abilities. Ability to work unsupervised Strong communication skills, listening, oral and written. Excellent interpersonal skills. Proficient in AutoCAD. Flexible and cooperative team attitude. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Strong attention to detail. Ability to travel intrastate, interstate and overseas (up to 20%). Desirable Certificate IV Project Management. Certificate III in Computer Aided Drafting. Certificate II Structural/Mechanical Detail Drafting. Fabrication Trade background. Autodesk Inventor.
