Overview: Full time, Fixed Term position until June 2026 Salary Academic Level A ($76,880 - $104,280) / Level B ($109,770 - $130,355) 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University About the Role RMIT Interior Design seeks an Associate Lecturer/Lecturer who will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the Interior Design discipline. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out teaching activities and for maintaining and advancing their research capabilities relevant to the discipline and course areas taught. Through this range of activities, you will be required to teach and conduct classes in interior design and assist in the academic, administrative, and consultative tasks involved with these courses. You are also expected to actively promote the discipline by establishing and maintaining links and partnerships with academic, industry and professional communities. The successful candidate will be an exceptional practitioner and/or academic with a demonstrated ability to teach broadly into the discipline area of interior design coupled with significant experience and expertise in interior design-related communications and technologies relevant to the visualisation and conceptualisation of spatial and temporal environments. A demonstrated track record of teaching, course administration/coordination and research coupled with an ability to bring innovative approaches to critical thinking with a strong foundation in social and cultural discourse relevant to interior design. To be successful for level A appointment, you will have: Demonstrated ability to prepare and teach programs at undergraduate and post-graduate levels, including online delivery, and the ability to produce high quality curriculum or program materials. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with and to negotiate sensitively with students especially on issues related to effective learning. Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs which will contribute to existing Discipline and School research areas evidenced by publications, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links. Ability to build effective networks with colleagues and generate alternative funding for projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
