Come and be a part of this success About the Role The purpose of the External Affairs (EA) Operations team is to enable and amplify the impact of our EA team. A critical trusted partner of EA sub-functions, sought after for your strategic insight and support. Reporting to the Manager External Affairs Operations - Legal, Group Governance, Ethics & Investigations, Compliance, you will support these sub-functions globally with a focus on partnering with them to identify and deliver transformation and improvement opportunities and initiatives (specifically technology and data improvements) that leave a positive impact on the culture, capabilities, and performance of EA, and transform how the team works. EA Operations delivers value by: Innovating - spot, design and implement quality improvements and new ideas that enable the EA team. Optimising - manage and implement large-scale systems, processes, tools and technology solutions and changes to ensure they work for the people that use them most. Strategising & Transforming - scan the horizon for new developments to ensure EA remains a future focussed world class team. Identifies, designs and implements process improvement initiatives (incudes identifying painpoints and embedding solutions). This role reports to the Manager, External Affairs Operations for Legal, Group Governance, Ethics & Investigations and Compliance in Singapore who sits on the Legal Executive Committee. The role is able to be performed from the following BHP locations - Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Manila or Santiago. This role will accept applications until 11:59pm AEST on 17th June 2024. Your responsibilities This role will support our Legal, Group Governance, Ethics & Investigations and Compliance teams globally, with a focus on Technology and Data: Act as a technical subject matter expert, who deeply understands sub-functional work, strategy, needs and challenges, and is sought out by the sub-function for advice, strategic insight, and support. Collaborate with our teams to manage technology and software applications: Maintain and drive enhancements for existing custom-built technology tools Identify, design, develop, and implement new software applications and custom solutions, engaging directly with stakeholders to conceptualise their requirements and ensuring solutions meet those requirements. Support with the roll out of new technology (and/or technology updates), including managing adoption and supporting ongoing use of tools. Support horizon scanning for new and emerging technologies, including opportunities to use AI to monitor risks and opportunities and to enhance outputs and streamline processes. Wrangle and manage complex data from multiple sources to create meaningful insights: Use relevant technology tools to visualise data and simplify complex reporting from multiple functions and data entry points (including using Microsoft Office tools and other dashboard platforms) and to automate processes (Nintex, Power Automate etc). Support teams to carry out routine benchmarking and present relevant internal and external data to tell a story and/or support critical business decisions. Work with other business stakeholders (eg. Finance, Procurement, Cyber, Technology) to manage processes and systems as they affect EA and empowering and enabling EA to navigate these tools and systems in an easy and efficient way. About You Experience managing a high volume of projects, including technology projects (from inception through the implementation including managing organisational change). Very strong data preparation, collation (from multiple sources and programs), management, visualisation, and analysis skills, turning complex data into business-critical insights. Must have extensive experience using Microsoft 365 suite including Excel, PowerBI, Power Automate, SharePoint and other low code/no code platforms, including Nintex. Interest in emerging technologies and finding novel applications of existing and emerging tech. Solid understanding of software development principles and agile methodologies. A problem solving mindset - taking responsibility from opportunity framing, process design, solution build and delivery, and documentation. Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and be a dependable team player who brings energy and enthusiasm to the team and interactions with internal customers. Ability to work in a geographically spread team and contribute to team culture. Formal requirements include: Tertiary qualification (Bachelor's degree) in Law, Computer Science, Business or Technology related field is required. 3 - 5 years' experience working in a large multi-national organisation, top-tier firm, alternative legal provider, management consulting firm, big 4 firm, or top-tier professional services firm.
