Warehouse & Inventory Manager Temperature Control — Adelaide, Adelaide Region

The Company Due to significant new client contracts, purpose built, sizeable premises and subsequent speed of growth, this transport, warehouse and logistics company is seeking a new Warehouse & Inventory Manager to take primary responsibility for the successful operation of core warehouse functions for a single major account and dedicated facility. Encompassing roughly 2,500 SKU’s, orders will be picked for some 180 different locations on order frequency. Your Role You will be required to ensure adequate resources are managed across roughly 18-hour days and that inbound stock is stored within agreed timeframes, available for picking as needed. Order picking will include both ambient and temperature-controlled items, across full carton and unit picking. In this hands-on role you will have a strong presence on the floor, whilst including several administrative and strategic functions. Regular tasks include: Through the project implementation, and ongoingly, ensuring the quality of data received, both SKU and order, allows for effective utilisation of the WMS to its full capacity and minimises any manual intervention Training and monitoring the workforce for use of hand-held devices Planning labour resourcing and equipment across the full range of shifts and tasks, and effectively managing overtime hours and costs Leading, monitoring and managing the team to drive task engagement, a strong service fulfilment ethic, and proactive control of your division Ensuring all areas under the direct control of the team are presentable, clean and safe, and address any shortcomings immediately Controlling materials handling/materials picking equipment to ensure maximum uptime and safe and proper use by operators In conjunction with the Transport Manager, coordinating and supervising administrative resources to ensure all orders are entered, delivered and closed off in a timely manner Providing data and feedback as required to the Finance and Reporting Officer to enable the preparation of weekly/monthly KPI reports Provide general support to the Contract Operations Manager, and General Manager – Commercial as required in the fulfilment of the contract Providing general support to the Group Managers and General Manager as required in the fulfilment of the contract Designing the most efficient pick paths for both full carton and individual unit/discrete picking to minimise costs and building traffic plans that minimise cross-over For all stock receipted by the Cross Dock team, ensuring storage and system updates are completed within short timeframes to allow for stock availability for new orders and back-orders Ensuring replenishment schedules, structures and pick locations are replenished to eliminate downtime or second picks Other Details The position is a permanent management role, and the working location will commence at an existing site, whilst new site transition is established. The position is one of high concentration and dedication in accordance with the rollout of a new contract. The remuneration guide is $110-120K Super. Standard hours are 07.00 – 16.00 with after-hours/ weekend calls actioned if required. About You Diploma or Cert IV in a related field (Logistics, Transport and Distribution etc) Previous experience managing or supervising a warehouse/picking team of at least 20 people Experience managing labour hire/subcontractors Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility Legislation components, particularly fatigue and scheduling Knowledge of HACCP requirements and standards, ideally in a temp controlled environment Exceptional customer service and negotiation skills, together with strong verbal and written communication Proficient in the use of Microsoft products, particularly Excel Demonstrated experience in the use of various WMS platforms and operator hand-held devices What to do now To register your interest in this dynamic position, submit your current confidential CV via the application link.
