A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Avionics team. The System Engineer is responsible for the technical support of engineering activities under the Thales Helicopter Aircrew Training System (HATS) contract. OUR BENEFITS Competitive remuneration Super ThalesFlex - Hybrid work environment Fitness Passport Discount - Access to a network of Gyms across AUS Employee discounts with a number of affiliates (Travel, Car hire, Tech, Medical Insurance) Modernised Paid Parental Leave Veterans Leave Novated Lease options Personal & professional training development opportunities YOUR ROLE Working across our sites in Rydalmere on Darug land, and Nowra on the land of the Jerrinja and Wandi Wandian people, your role purpose will be: Support the engineering service delivery for the project including work package management Management and execution of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and modifications to the STE Understand customer needs - participate in requirements elicitation, analysis and development, ensure traceability of all requirements Develop and maintain engineering baseline documentation including specifications, design documents, verification and validation artefacts Investigation in to Problem Reports and defects Conduct and documenting of Technical Investigations Understanding and applying the Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASR) and Thales internal Chorus 2.0 processes Support specialty engineering input (Configuration Management, Systems Safety, Integrated Logistics Support, Security etc) Supporting a thorough obsolescence program for the STE and ICT systems YOUR EXPERIENCE To be successful in your role, you will have demonstrated and/or acquired the following knowledge and experience: Professional qualification majoring in Engineering, Computer Science or other related technical systems and/or software fields. Eligible for recognition by Engineers Australia (IEAust) or equivalent relevant organisation. Practical experience in electrical, electronic, communication and information technology systems and the implementation of these systems. Experience within a simulator, aviation or other technical maintenance environments. Practical knowledge in system engineering processes and activities and software configuration management Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organisational and presentation skills. Knowledge of quality concepts, standards, systems and programs and their importance to the organisations success. Customer relationship management.
