About the role Reporting to the Hardware Design Manger the role of Mechanical Design Engineer will be a key member of our team and is responsible for delivering mechanical engineering product design and drafting support to our operations and project environments. This will include technical support for the full product lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to product introduction and process and product improvement. Key responsibilities will include: Liaise with stakeholders to determine design parameters. Desing of conceptual sketches, 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of mechanical housings and fixtures. Ensure designs are made with a particular focus on customer usability, functionality, manufacturability, and assembly (DFMA). Research, evaluate and select appropriate materials to use in the development of products and assembly processes. Organise the build, verification testing and evaluation of prototypes. Assist and guide the development of manufacturing equipment. Life-cycle management of mechanical designs About You This engaging opportunity will align with an experienced Mechanical Engineer that is looking to develop their existing technical skills within our team based in Mawson Lakes. To be successful in your application you will have demonstrated experience in delivering complex mechanical engineering activities within an operational and cross functional project environment. You should be degree qualified in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or another related field. Ideally you will have experience with 3D modelling with exposure to both plastic and metal fabrication techniques. Exposure to SolidWorks would be highly advantageous.
