We are currently looking for a Senior Design Manager to oversee the coordination and management of the Design Process, while building and maintaining professional client and subcontractor relationships across multiple projects. Proactively seeking and challenging commercial opportunities for value/value manage and industry leading quality outcomes. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Plan and program the design process effectively to ensure all stakeholders act in a timely manner. Ensure that all design undertakings are in line with contractual, legislative and McNab requirements. Review specifications and contract documentation for Design and Construct Contracts and general trade scopes. Manage the development of the PPR, clearly setting extent of works, quality, cost parameters and legal implications. Identify, coordinate and drive consultants to complete detailed design and documentation within specified timeframes. Challenge consultants appropriately and act with flexibility and curiosity to come up with effective design solutions and find efficiencies in design. Identify and recommend cost effective construction strategies and methodologies, incorporating them into the design. Ensure compliance and contractual obligations are met throughout the process and within design. Manage client relationships with integrity and fairness, influencing the outcomes you need to ensure effective design. About you: Tertiary qualifications in Design or Construction coupled with extensive experience in a Design Management role. A strong commercial awareness and ability to identify cost efficiencies through design. Strong communication and negotiation skills. An ability to identify and manage risk. Develop and maintain strong relationships.
