About the Role: The Teaching Focused Academic (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) is a teaching-intensive position in Sport Management. You would bring a combination of professional and academic expertise to contribute to teaching, research, leadership and service within the Bachelor of Sport Management and the Bachelor of Business (Sport Management) via VU's Block Model of teaching, where students study one unit (subject) at a time in small interactive and collaborative class. Each semester is made up of four blocks, which each run for four weeks. The Bachelor of Sport Management/Bachelor of Business has a renewed focus on career readiness, employability/entrepreneurship, and industry immersion from the first unit and throughout the course, supported via real business experiences, guaranteed internships/placements, and learning environments designed to foster collaboration and problem solving. This is a full time position being offered at the Teaching Focused Academic level B $105,662 per annum - $125,473 per annum or level C $129,435 per annum - $149,246 per annum (dependent on the level of experience and research profile), plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week over a continuing contract period. Duties: An example of duties you may perform will include: Undertake teaching and associated duties. Design industry relevant, innovative curricula and develop learning materials in collaboration with other colleagues as appropriate. Develop and facilitate learning activities online, face-to-face or in a blended capacity as appropriate, which stimulate and foster student learning and which reflect a command of the discipline and contemporary pedagogic practices. Undertake research and publish in quality high-ranked publications. About You: You have a strong academic background, with a PhD in Sport Management/Business, combined with active connections to the sport management profession. You have a passion for educating the next generation of sport business leaders and have demonstrated an emerging research track record through relevant projects and publications. You will have industry and academic experience in sport management and sport marketing. You can demonstrate high professional and collegial behaviour and the ability to work with others.
