About the Role: The Teaching Focused Academic is a teaching-intensive position primarily for transnational education (TNE). You will be expected to travel overseas to destinations such as China, India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. You will make a significant contribution to teaching, coordination and subject development at the Victoria University Business School (VUBS) and related degree programs with our international partners. As a Teaching Focused Academic (TNE) in Finance, you would bring a combination of professional and academic expertise to contribute to teaching, research, leadership and service within the Bachelor of Business and Master programs via VU's Block Model of teaching, where students study one unit (subject) at a time in small interactive and collaborative class. Each semester is made up of four blocks, which each run for four weeks. The Bachelor of Business has a renewed focus on career readiness, employability/entrepreneurship, and industry immersion from the first unit and throughout the course, supported via real business experiences, guaranteed internships/placements, and learning environments designed to foster collaboration and problem solving. This is a full time position being offered at the Teaching Focused Academic level B $105,662 per annum - $125,473 per annum, plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week over a continuing contract period. Duties: An example of duties you may perform will include: Undertaking teaching and associated duties within Australia and overseas. Designing industry-relevant, innovative curricula and delivering high-quality and engaging classes. Providing support to the University's TNE Partnership office and relevant international partners. Identify, assess, prioritise and control risks to the health and safety of staff, students, visitors and contractors to the environment arising from the operation of the area under their responsibility, and ensure that a safe system of work is developed and followed through appropriate training, supervision and monitoring in line with the annual OH&S Plan. About You: You have a strong academic background, with a PhD in finance or related area, and or demonstrated teaching capacity at undergraduate and postgraduate level for, one or more of the following areas: finance/financial services, accounting and economics and have demonstrated an emerging research track record through relevant projects and publications. You will bring high-level communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross cultural sensitivity.
