One of Australia’s largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of an Electrical Engineer – Substations. As our new HV Engineer – Substations based in Melbourne, you'll play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that supports our clients with their day-to-day requirements with the High Voltage system. Working within a multi-disciplinary team of professionals based in Melbourne on a wide variety of projects in our Energy & Industrial Department, getting exposure to varied and challenging projects locally in Melbourne and across Victoria. Your Role Will Include the Following Deliver concept to detailed Design of HV Projects Primary systems design – produce SLDs, HV substation layouts, equipment and materials lists. Site visits, assessment surveys Preparation and review of design reports and power system calculations Preparation of proposals & budget estimates Being a strong all-rounder, apply your range of electrical engineering experience to a range of different projects. Hands on experience in Testing & Commissioning of HV Installation & Protection System is a strong requirement of this position as well. About You In order to be successful in this position, you will possess: Effective Communicate with clients, suppliers, sub-contractors, fellow team members in a way that draws people in and effectively convey information. Capability to thrive in a collaborative and inclusive team environment. A willingness to learn new skills, share your knowledge and mentor junior team members. Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities Industry Complete knowledge and application of current overhead and underground design philosophies, procedures, Australian standards and statutory requirements including Safety in Design. Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical skills and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues. Required Qualifications Degree of Electrical Engineering (Power/Electrical) Construction Induction Cert. Driver's Licence Recipient in charge Sanction for Testing HV Operating ticket would be an advantage.
