As a Senior Project Engineer (Microgrid Controls) in the Commercial & Industrial Markets (C&I), you'll be accountable for modelling, functional design, procurement and assisting commissioning of microgrid control systems for large and complex hybrid energy projects. You will work within a team of engineers to problem solve technical issues with internal and external stakeholders, to deliver the best outcome for the project. At AGL, we're not just changing the game; we're changing the planet for the better, one project at a time What you'll be doing: Undertaking system modelling to provide options analysis of the best techno-economic solution for a project. Developing project technical specifications / functional description for microgrid system controls, communications and SCADA incorporating information from key stakeholders. Managing microgrid control OEMs designs, implementation, integration with systems and testing plans on microgrid projects. Ensuring safety design principals are utilised wherever engineering work may have a downstream impact on the safety of people, property or the environment. Optimising control system strategies (generation or load) to better suit outcomes for AGL Assets. What you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and either Chartered or working towards Chartership with Engineers Australia (or equivalent in other countries), coupled with any additional industry related Accreditations. Experience in microgrid modelling and control system design or commissioning. Experience working in cross disciplinary delivery teams across major industrial and commercial renewables OEM or EPC. Knowledge and experience with microgrid modelling and engineering software (HOMER Pro, Gridcog) and excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Well-developed, detail orientated organization skills and good interpersonal and written / verbal communication skills.
