WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR About the Team Located in Redbank in Ipswich, the project quality engineering team is responsible to ensure that product aligns to contractual requirements and specification. About the Role The Project Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the implementation of the projects the incumbent is assigned to comply with the contractual, customer-specific, project-relevant and company-internal quality requirements for the products and the processes used. The incumbent adapts and develops methods and tools of quality, derives essential test points and criteria and ensures that the defined measures are carried out. In doing so, they act in the integrated Plan-Do-Check-Act approach, with which they ensure that any non-conformities that are noticed are rectified and a recurrence is prevented. Providing expert level, professional capability and support in quality management to the business on complex and critical quality issues to meet operational requirements and ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations and other requirements. As Project Quality Engineer -Development, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include: Develop test plans and test cases to validate software; Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates Conduct testing on software products to ensure that they are bug-free and meet the organization's quality standards; Automate testing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy of testing procedures; Conduct code reviews to ensure that software is being developed according to industry best practices and quality standards; Conduct performance testing to ensure that software products perform well under different workloads; Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments; Document and report defects found during testing and works with the development team to ensure they are resolved; Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, or completeness, or to mitigate risks; Investigate customer problems referred by technical support; Collaborate with field staff or customers to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions; Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems; Collaborate with the development team to ensure that the software is developed in a way that is conducive to testing and that any issues are addressed in a timely manner; Participate in release management to ensure that software is released to production with the highest quality possible; Coordinate the delivery of quality information and systems to staff, promote and encourage work to be undertaken safely and productively within a quality framework; and Fulfil other duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Relevant tertiary qualification (Degree in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or other Exact Science degree) Recognised formal training in Quality (CQE, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, degree, etc.) Trained in using advanced quality tools and techniques Work experience (at least 3 years) in quality assurance in comparable industry Comprehensive understanding of ISO 9000 and AQAP family of standards Strong stakeholder management skills where customised solutions and a consultancy based approach are key Solid background in Defence Requirements management, with an understanding of NATO requirements Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; and Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
