About you: In your new role you will… Demonstrate evidence of high-level interpersonal skills, including high level written and oral communication skills, with the ability to consult and communicate with staff at all levels with ability in negotiating and influencing. Demonstrate knowledge of the regulatory framework, including research ethics and governance processes, necessary for to the conduct of safe, ethical and high-quality health and medical research in a complex public health service organisation. Demonstrate high level communication skills, incorporating the ability to liaise and consult effectively with personnel at all levels and the ability to exercise tact and judgment on sensitive issues. About your opportunity: In this position you will provide high level, confidential and professional assistance and support to the Director of Research, in relation to education and research development within the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service. About your role: Work independently, and at the direction of senior staff, to provide an efficient and consistently high standard of administrative support to the CHHHS Research Ethics and Governance Office. Conduct preliminary reviews and assessments of Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and Site-Specific Assessment (SSA) applications. Provide Secretariat support services to the HREC as required including preparation of agendas, distribution of papers, and generating correspondence to stakeholders. Manage and review responses to HREC recommendations ensuring prompt feedback and communication of approval letters to researchers.
