Position overview Starling Services are urgently looking for COVID-19 Clinic Registration Clerk (Administrative Officer Level 2) in the market who are interested in working with us for a long term contract job opportunity If you are a highly passionate, motivated and qualified COVID-19 Clinic Registration Clerk (Administrative Officer Level 2) , who has all the required documents to get started and looking for a great work/life balance, we are interested in hearing from you COVID-19 VACCINATION COMPLIANCY All Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with the organisation, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available RESPIRATOR USE Health workers may be required to use a respirator, as part of their appointment with the organisation. Where a respirator is required for use, workers will be instructed in their safe use; including donning, doffing and fit checking. Staff may be required to complete fit testing to selected respirator/s to assess their facial fit/seal. At all times when a health worker is required to use a respirator, the health worker must not have any facial hair present. Processes are in place to support workers that need to keep facial hair due to religious observance requirements and/ or health conditions. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Pre-register, register, admit, transfer and discharge any patients presenting to the RPA COVID-19 Clinic into the eMR system. Update any retrospective patient related information into the hospital system. Responsible for the decision and accurate entering of the financial classification for all patients presenting to the COVID-19 Clinic. Ensure that all manually completed patient registration forms are collected and data entered into the system within a timely and accurate manner Maintain clear and professional communication with clinical, medical and clerical staff regarding high quality patient care. Comply with all MoH, SLHD and RPAH policies and procedures relating to the registration of patients to the COVID-19 Clinic. Work closely with the COVID-19 Clinic Clerical Manager and Clerical Shift Supervisor to implement any work flow processes for improved strategies. Welcome visitors, patients and carers into the COVID-19 Clinic in a friendly empathetic and professional manner. Complete all mandatory training requirements and adhere to the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as outlined for the COVID-19 Clinic at all times. Capacity to be flexible to adapt to a constantly changing environment depending on demand and working cohesively with other members of the team to achieve targets. Report any system, workflow and WH&S issues immediately to the COVID-19 Clinic Clerical Manager, Shift Supervisor or other nominated management/senior roles. Any other duties as determined suitable by the COVID Clinic Clerical Manager, Shift Supervisor, Patient Registration Manager, ED Clerical Manager, PISD Manager and Acting COVID Clinic Nurse Manager in accordance with the Health Employees Administrative (staff) Award. KEY CHALLENGES Time management – ability to complete tasks to a high standard within set deadlines and the ability to prioritise own workload and assist others as required. Change management – ability to function as part of a team in a constant changing environment needing roster changes at short notices to meet demand and adapt to new and changing business processes, computer systems and software updates. Communication – ability to communicate effectively with clinic clerical managers/supervisors, clinical managers, other administrative staff, patient and visitors to ensure needs are met and able to be dealing with challenging patients/members of public and dealing with clients from diverse backgrounds. SELECTION CRITERIA Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to function as part of a team. Strong ability to work under pressure in a busy, constant changing and demanding environment including ability to organise and set work priorities to meet department benchmarks and targets. Demonstrated computer literacy including proficient keyboard and data entry skills with understanding of client related databases and willingness to learn private health insurance usage in a public hospital setting. Demonstrated excellent attention to detail and work accuracy and strong ability to effectively use problem solving and negotiation skills. Experience in a frontline customer service role or working directly with members of public preferably within a sensitive environment. Commitment to work a 7 day rotating roster setting and be flexible with short notice roster changes depending on the needs of the COVID-19 Clinic.
