Analyst Programmer and System Administrator — Canberra Region, Australian Capital Territory

Who we are Digital Services Division (DSD) is responsible for enabling Information and Communication Technology (ICT) functions and activities in the department. The division provides a secure, modern ICT environment so that the department can conduct its business 24/7 and focus on achieving departmental outcomes. DSD staff work collaboratively across the department, taking advantage of advances in technology, to deliver end-to-end services and solutions that are nationally consistent and deliver organisational and business benefits. As a trusted ICT adviser, DSD aims to strengthen its partnerships with other divisions through the provision of professional advice, innovative solutions and high quality, timely and reliable ICT services. DSD staff are experts in ICT operations, ICT project planning and delivery, ICT applications development and support, ICT security, ICT contracts and vendor management, web services, information, data and records management and ICT governance and strategy. The division also includes the Shared Services Centre which allows organisations to leverage established and emerging infrastructure and capabilities of another organisation providing cost savings, increased ICT buying power and common tools and services. Digital Platforms and Products Branch provide the wholesale digital platforms and services that underpin the department's retail digital products and corporate systems. We provide the architectural guardrails for design and implementation of digital systems in the department to ensure sustainability and enable innovation. We drive and support the adoption of DevOps practices to enable faster and more robust delivery of IT systems, including the uplift of testing practice. We manage digital platforms and products relating to Information and Records Management, ERP Systems and Web Systems. ERP Systems Section administer the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) information systems for the department, including FMIS, HRMIS, Revenue and Levies systems. ERP systems support the delivery of critical corporate functions such as financial management and human resource management. The key duties of the position include The Job We are looking to fill two separate vacancies within the ERP Systems Section. As an Analyst Programmer at the APS Level 6, you will: Assist with maintenance of Revenue and Levies software, providing support to the relevant business areas and the deployment of vendor updates. Assist with functional systems testing and change control to support changes to departmental FMIS systems. Troubleshoot issues with Revenue and Levies software and their associated SQL databases. Assist with the creation and updating of system documentation as required. As a System Administrator you will: Assist with systems testing and change control to support changes to FMIS systems in an administrator capacity. Assist with system support and maintenance tasks including issue and incident resolution, access and security, data maintenance, data integrity, quality assurance, system patching and upgrades and systems integration in an administrator and user capacity. Provide advice and guidance to end users and stakeholders on issues. Work closely with suppliers to achieve effective and efficient vendor support for applications and systems. Work collaboratively with a broad range of stakeholders.
