We have an exciting opportunity available for an Engineering Manager - Power to join our team in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a full-time/permanent basis. You will work on hybrid power generation projects that include solar, wind, BESS and firming GPG. Our involvement starts as early as the prospecting stage, flows through ideation (where we determine the optimal combination of the technologies to match demand and available resources), concept design, and delivery. Our team is made up of subject matter experts and generalists with sufficient depth to deliver the majority of development activities using internal resources. Reporting to the Head of Engineering Development, you will be responsible for overseeing the engineering on complex power projects: ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget, driving the seamless integration of engineering contributions from various disciplines and developing and implementing engineering strategies to improve productivity and efficiency. You will also be responsible for mentoring and guiding the engineering team. Key Responsibilities Establish project specific engineering management plans, and/or implement engineering governance on major programs, subject only to overall policy and quality controls Participate in determination of basic operating policies, devise ways of reaching program objectives in the most economical manner and of meeting any unusual conditions affecting work progress Review and evaluate technical work, schedule and coordinate staff to attain program objectives, and/or make decisions concerning selection, training, rating, and allocation of staff to projects. Reviewing work to ensure conformity with policy and co-ordination with other projects and programs Your background Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline admitting to corporate membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia or equivalent experience (Mandatory) RPEQ, RPEV, CPEng certification Extensive experience in a leadership discipline overseeing multidisciplinary engineering teams Extensive experience working on wind farm project development and delivery. Knowledge of relevant Australian codes and statutory requirements About the Team The Infrastructure Engineering - Power team forms part of the Infrastructure Delivery division in APA, responsible for development and delivery of growth power projects across Australia. With a strong pipeline of power projects, both on-grid and off-grid, the recently established Infrastructure Engineering - Power team is experiencing rapid growth.
