Queensland Rail is looking for a Senior Signalling Engineer to join our Signalling Design Engineering team. The remuneration for your new role is $138,900 to $148,173 plus Overtime plus 12.75% superannuation. Role overview: Here at Queensland Rail our Signal Engineers experience a wide range of rail projects from the biggest infrastructure growth projects e.g. Cross River Rail to small but satisfying operational reliability improvements across a range of signal engineering technologies. The Signalling Design Team delivers a diverse range of engineering activities associated with the design and the development of rail signalling assets, critical to the operation of the rail network. In Queensland Rail you will have a unique opportunity to be part of the whole railway engineering life cycle starting designs from concept, to working with operational stakeholders in understand how the design impacts on and delivers their needs. Then see it through to its commissioning, and reliable use in operation. Design, verify, review and solve technical problems related to Signal Engineering design articles including Signalling Arrangements, Control Tables, Circuits and Interlocking Data. Provide a central role as a signal engineering specialist in a team of engineering professionals & paraprofessionals, including multi-disciplinary project-based teams to ensure delivery of effective and commercially valuable signal engineering solutions. Mentor and support the development of design engineers within the team. Location/hours: Brisbane CBD office location. Our standard working hours are 38 hour per work week Monday to Friday, however whilst limited, there may be requirement for some pre-planned/occasional ad-hoc weekend work or outside hours work to support commissioning of design works. Overtime and penalties are paid for outside normal business hours worked. What you’ll bring: Skills and experience in delivering signal engineering solutions to meet project requirements. Analytical skills including critical thinking, analysis, research, and ability to identify and solve complex issues. Team, stakeholder and contractor engagement communication skills, ability to work across multiple functions and scopes of work, take accountability and drive successful outcomes. Independence and ability to operate without direct supervision and exercise initiative. Qualifications at the time of application: Bachelor Engineering Electrical/Electronic/Mechatronic Degree from an accredited Australian University OR be able to provide evidence of Queensland Rail accepted equivalent that is assessed and recognised by Engineers Australia, the national professional body for Engineers in Australia.
