About the role We are excited to announce a key opportunity at Orica for a DevOps Engineer within our Digital Solutions team focused on our Rust based Orebody Intelligence, Blast Design, and Grade Control software products. Orica's Digital Solutions seamlessly connects our customers' physical and digital worlds so they can readily understand and optimise their operations at every step of the value chain, from exploration to processing, empowering smarter, data-driven decisions. We seek a DevOps Engineer who thrives on ensuring operational excellence and reliability. You will work with Developers, Product Managers, and Subject Matter Experts to continuously ship value to our customers. Your role will involve managing the CI/CD pipeline, implementing best-practice security standards, and ensuring high availability and performance of our cloud solutions to meet the practical needs of our customers. The team is a mixture of remote and hybrid (Newcastle based). You will work with other teams geographically distributed across Australia and overseas. What you will be doing Identifying areas of improvement in server security and container management in Azure cloud. Engaging with stakeholders to understand security and data requirements and implementing controls. Collaborating with development teams to integrate best practices into the CI/CD pipeline and enhance server security posture. Assessing, troubleshooting, and mitigating risks associated with containerised Rust servers in Azure. Ensuring server security compliance with internal policies and industry standards. What you will bring Terraform experience (Hashicorp certification) Kubernetes experience (ideally certified) Extensive GitHub Actions experience Rust development experience PostgreSQL administration experience Azure experience You have strong experience in Cloud Application architecture. Preferably in multi-tenanted SaaS. You have effective communication skills. Experience with ISO-27001 compliance is desirable. The Tech Stack Terraform for provisioning and managing resources in Azure. Azure Kubernetes Service for container orchestration and management of Rust servers. GitHub Actions for CI/CD. Rust (Axum) servers/applications. PostgreSQL. Azure PaaS services and data stores.
