Location: Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese Specialist Teachers - Dance - Primary and Secondary schools Join one of Western Sydney’s largest employers Up to 4 days part time from Term 4 week 7 (14 October 2024) until Term 2 week 1 (9 June 2025) Days: Negotiable Location: Multiple Schools CAPTIVATE, the performing arts unit of CSPD is seeking a qualified dance teacher to cover a maternity leave position. Now in its 16th year, CAPTIVATE works across multiple CSPD primary and secondary schools in western Sydney to deliver quality arts education. About the opportunities: You will join the CAPTIVATE performing arts team and the focus of your role will be to inspire students through dance. More specifically you will: Contribute to the leadership, design and delivery of student learning opportunities through school-based programs which model professional arts practice and link students to industry. Contribute to the leadership, design and delivery of professional learning with a focus on building teacher capacity to engage students in deep learning through the arts. Implement System Learning priorities and initiatives in the alignment of the CAPTIVATE program with deep learning, classroom-based activities, experiences and rich and open tasks through learning scaffolds in the arts Apply specialist arts pedagogical and discipline knowledge to enrich, deepen and transfer learning in the arts to student learning outcomes exploring deep learning practices Lead and develop ensemble programs and collaborate with school leadership teams, CAPA staff and classroom teachers to further enhance and develop creative and performing arts programs and practices in and beyond the classroom What you will bring: To be successful you will demonstrate alignment to our purpose and values, together with: A teaching degree with NESA accreditation Experience in choreographing and teaching in both contemporary and commercial styles of dance to primary and secondary students Experience in teaching HSC Dance  Team teaching experience The ability to collaborate across genres (music, dance and drama)  A passion for driving dance initiatives within schools as part of the wider CAPTIVATE program As part of the application process we would encourage you to provide a video sample of your choreography in the relevant style(s) as well as a video of yourself dancing a short routine in your choice of style.
