About the role Our Internal Sales team are focused on finding new customers, retaining existing customers, and developing innovative solutions to grow our Intermodal division. The Internal Sales play an important role in establishing relationships and professionally marketing the Pacific National services. The Internal Sales team leverage their in-depth knowledge of the Pacific National business and the potential customers business to continually identify new business opportunities and solutions. Through effective engagement and partnerships, the Internal Sales team contributes directly to enhancing the customer experience and the revenue growth strategy. As the Team Leader - Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in driving the success of the team's sales efforts. You will lead a dedicated team of sales professionals, guiding and motivating them to achieve and exceed sales targets. Your in-depth knowledge of the rail freight industry and your leadership skills will be instrumental in developing strategies that capitalise on market opportunities and maintain strong client relationships. Key responsibilities include: Lead, mentor and inspire the team of Sales Associates to achieve individual and collective sales goals Develop and implement strategic sales plans that align with Pacific National's objectives and market trends Identify new business opportunities and work collaboratively with the team to expand our client base Foster strong relationships with existing clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions Define and clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to achieve team outcomes Lead by example and maintain high standards of professionalism and impartiality Actively engage the customers in informative conversations to solicit information on their business requirements and align solutions with Pacific National services and product offering. Take the initiative to step in to help others when workloads are high to ensure build a collegial working environment Proactively raise unresolved or complex issues to seek advice to a solution. Respond to customer enquiries effectively and in a timely manner ensuring a high-quality customer experience. Actively maintain a comprehensive and up to date database of customer business information Proactively generate leads through effective prospecting of customer database, cold calls, internal and external referrals, and networking events Manage and maintain complete records of all prospects and customer contact, follow-up calls and forecast information into the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) Actively collaborate with internal teams to develop professional bids aligning to the customer needs to internal commercial outcomes Proactively maintain knowledge with market/industry dynamics, competition, market pricing and vertical market requirements, to be best positioned for success in prospecting efforts Analyse customer data, assessing needs and prepare tailored solutions About you To be successful in this role, you will need to be a customer centric sales professional with demonstrated experienced in a sales leadership role, ideally within the transport/logistics industry. You will have excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse sales team. In addition, you will possess the following skills, experience and attributes: Minimum of 2 years Team Leader experience in an internal sales environment 1 to 2 years' experience in internal sales or outbound call centre role with the ability to prospect, develop customer databases and close sales Self-motivated to learn & grow professionally High level of emotional intelligence with ability to build / maintain effective relationship. Articulate and professional with an enthusiastic attitude and a focus on results A lateral thinker with solutions focus, to generate new sales opportunities Strong written and verbal communications with a high level of emotional intelligence Adaptability to a changing environment Excellent organisational and time management skills An understanding of the rail freight business and knowledge of the freight services provided by Pacific National is desired High level of computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office products including word, excel, PowerPoint and outlook Knowledge and experience in the use of a Customer Relationship Management system The benefits At Pacific National we value diversity, inclusion, and the contribution of each team member.
