Independent Public School - South Metropolitan Education Region Halls Head College Education Support Centre Teacher - Education Support Pool Ref IPS/TCH898961 Teacher, $78,397 - $113,568 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021) Advertised Vacancy Number: IPS/TCH898961 Appointment Pool Halls Head College Education Support Centre (ESC) is seeking to establish a pool of dedicated and enthusiastic Education Support Teachers for appointments to permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2024 school year and up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 4, 2025. Suitable applicants will create a classroom environment that is caring, differentiated and responsive to the needs of each individual student. You will ideally be a reflective teacher with a commitment to continual professional growth to improve your practice and ideally possess a willingness to embrace engaging digital learning approaches and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to work effectively with our diverse range of students. Suitable applicants will ideally be able to build productive relationships and to communicate positively with students, parents and the whole community. Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills that will enhance effective learning are highly desirable, as well as the initiative and motivation to improve student outcomes. Applicants with knowledge and experience in working with students with autism and mild intellectual disabilities to those with moderate/severe and complex high needs are encouraged to apply. Experience in delivering Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) is highly desirable. The suitable applicants will ideally have effective classroom management skills to enhance student wellbeing and personal responsibility, be flexible, as well as have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to professional learning and a high level of participation in collaborative team planning. The ability to positively manage a team of education assistants is crucial to this role. They will support school leadership in the implementation of the Halls Head College ESC business plan, be committed to whole school approaches and initiatives and have a strong evidence based approach to teaching. Halls Head College ESC is a vibrant, caring and successful, small school for students with disabilities from Year 7 to Year 10. We share a site with Halls Head College and provide a quality educational experience for all of our students, providing personal learning plans and pathways to ensure that each student will progress, purposefully, towards their own potential.
