WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR About the Team The Rheinmetall Defence Australia (RDA) Training team is responsible for the design and delivery of high volume, complex training solutions to the Australian Defence Forces and other customers, across the range of RDA products. About the Role Your next opportunity The Instructional Design Team Leader is responsible for conducting the Analysis and Design phases of the ADDIE instructional systems design framework. This includes the conduct of Performance Needs Analysis and developing training recommendations for the customer; and for the Design, Development and Evaluation of Learning Management Packages in accordance with the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL). As a Training Design, Team Lead you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include: The general and generic duties of the Senior Instructional Designer include, but are not limited to: Developing functional relationships and maintaining close liaison with the Commonwealth and support contract training teams; Provide subject matter expertise for the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL); Attend RDA convened conferences, meetings and activities associated with the training sub-program; Attend Commonwealth convened conferences, meetings and activities including Learning Review (LRB) and Learning Implementation Boards (LIB) and Training Development Workshops; Engage with SMEs and stakeholders to establish and communicate learning objectives and to understand technical data; Conduct and supervise the development of Performance Needs Analysis and Design deliverables, in accordance with the relevant contract; Incorporate bespoke e-learning resources, Part-Task Trainers, Simulation and additional Training Equipment into training solutions in a way that is measured and meaningful; Direct involvement in the support of trial courses and their evaluation; Provide guidance to the Training Design team; Provide input into the Training System program body of work, including review of training documentation, contribution to planning, attendance at project related activities as part of the ILS team; and Fulfil other associated duties and responsibilities that may be required as determined with your manager from time to time. The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes: Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or equivalent; or currently undertaking an equivalent course; or having appropriate experience; Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40116); In-depth knowledge of Adult Learning Theories; Specialist level working knowledge of the Systems Approach to Defence Learning (SADL); Technical writing skills across a range of training documentation and general writing skills such as activity instructions, dot-point briefs, emails, letters and other forms of external correspondence; Relevant product knowledge or the ability to gain such knowledge; and Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
