Job posting end date: 06/19/2024 Introduction We are seeking a Junior Paralegal / Legal Assistant our legal team across Australia and Asia. This is a part-time, casual opportunity (2-3 days a week) for 12 months. This position would suit a law student with some flexibility in working hours, to accommodate academic pursuits or during high-pressure periods (i.e. exam season). As Junior Paralegal/ Legal Assistant, you will support the legal team in all project and service-related contract commercial issues starting from proposal planning and preparation, involving country-specific experience in legal, finance, and tax-related issues. This position can be based from our Perth or Sydney locations and will report to the VP, legal APAC. We are happy to offer some flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. The legal team supports the business by leading or contributing to contract negotiations with clients and clarifying interfaces between technical and commercial contract provisions. Non-disclosure and secrecy agreements, as well as involvement of subcontractors and suppliers, and transferring relevant contractual elements to procurement, is a part of the responsibility area of the legal team during the execution phase of each project. What you'll do Liaising with internal stakeholders. Liasing with and supporting VP Legal and other lawyers in the team. File and matter management. Assisting with meeting preparations. Communicating with external service providers, specifically with insurance broker. Drafting, reviewing and preparing correspondence. Drafting and preparing simple documents (e.g. Non-disclosure agreements / confidentiality agreements and Contract clarification registers / tables.) Administrative support including diary and email management, if needed. End of month expense billing. Coordinating travel arrangements. Who you are Ideally you are currently studying law or have some experience working with lawyers. Ability to work with others, sharing knowledge and cooperating to achieve group goals. A high attention to detail and meticulous organisational skills. Strong communication skills - both written and verbal. A natural ability to problem solve and come up with solutions. Ability to work under time pressures. Excellent interpersonal skills (highly valued) Strong ability to work independently and with some autonomy. Good proficiency in using Microsoft WORD and PowerPoint. Experience with CONCUR travel expense reporting is preferred but not a requirement (training available).
