About the team and role The Planning & Delivery team delivers critical capital infrastructure and facilities management services that enable Sydney Airport to achieve its strategic objectives. Planning & Delivery adopts a customer centric approach to our engagement with all internal stakeholders, providing transparency and demonstrable value for money in our dealings with external stakeholders and delivering its results in a way that mitigates unplanned disruptions to ongoing airport operations for all our stakeholders, travellers and the public. The purpose of the Design Manager (Interiors) is to provide interior architectural design, design management and support to key terminal and building projects at Sydney Airport. The role will report directly to the Manager, Interior Design and Retail and indirectly to project managers and stakeholders in support for delivery of projects. Primarily the role will provide design, design management and support throughout the project life cycle of terminal and building projects. This key function will support project sponsors, stakeholders and project teams in establishing design outcomes, driving design excellence and ensuring time/cost/quality design management controls are undertaken for projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to Prepare and coordinate Interior & Interior architectural concept designs for key projects within Sydney Airport's terminals and surrounding buildings. Provide Architectural / interior design expertise and advice across all projects. Drive and coordinate sponsor and stakeholder requirements to ensure successful project outcomes. Ensure coordination with surrounding building, urban, services and airfield projects Provision of design management support to internal project teams throughout the project life cycle Provide design management and overview of consultant and contractor design and documentation. Oversight, commentary and approvals of consultant and contractor design outputs Maintain and develop Interiors design guideline publications Provide design consistency and support for all projects to ensure interior design standards are maintained across all projects and assets About you Relevant tertiary education in Interior Design or Architectural design or related degree. In lieu of degree, minimum 6 years' experience in related roles Airport retail experience, preferably international airport highly desired Demonstrated experience successfully managing internal and external stakeholders Strong concept design skills through hand drawn, CAD design or 3D modelling software Capability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload Adobe Creative Cloud experience - advanced skills in Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop Ability to proactively and autonomously lead and drive initiatives & improvements for a better customer or stakeholder experience. Resilience and tenacity to lead from the front whilst remaining flexible and agile to adapt to the dynamic nature of our business. A commercial mindset with the ability to balance hands on tactical service delivery with the ability to work with business strategies.
