The team are expanding their operations, we are on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated A-Grade Electrician to join their team in South Australia, focusing on substation services. Position Overview Seeking an experienced A-Grade Electrician with a South Australian license to perform specialized work in substations. This role involves installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, ensuring the safety and reliability of our infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Installation and Commissioning: Perform on-site installation and commissioning of electrical systems at both domestic and international sites. System Assembly and Repair: Assemble, install, modify, and repair electronic and electrical systems at customer locations. Customer Training: Train and orient customer representatives during installations and maintenance to familiarize them with our products. Problem Solving: Work closely with customer representatives to resolve issues promptly, ensuring system availability and reliability. Customer Advocacy: Provide insights based on field service experience to improve products and reduce costs. Documentation Management: Maintain detailed documentation for each customer site, including schematics and user manuals, and distribute necessary information to customers. Routine Maintenance: Schedule and conduct routine maintenance on field units, including electrical and mechanical testing to ensure reliability. Engineering Collaboration: Communicate effectively with engineering staff to resolve technical issues and incorporate field unit changes. Site Surveys: Assist Application Engineers with site surveys and provide feedback for product improvement. On-call Support: Be available for on-call duties two out of four weeks, including weekdays and weekends, with additional compensation. Qualifications and Skills License: Valid South Australian A-Grade Electrical License. Experience: At least 5 years of field service experience in high-voltage environments. Experience with automation and SCADA systems is advantageous. Safety Knowledge: Proficient in safety protocols for working with electrical equipment up to 1200 volts and 1000 amps. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in the use of electronic test equipment (e.g., DVMs, oscilloscopes), and capable of diagnosing and repairing power electronic products. Electronics Knowledge: Willingness to learn and work with DVAR STATCOM systems. Documentation Skills: Ability to read and interpret electronic assembly drawings, schematics, and technical documentation. Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills; fluency in English is essential. Attention to Detail: High accuracy in work and the ability to inspect your work and that of others. Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Self-directed and motivated. Physical Requirements: Capable of performing medium-level physical work, including lifting up to 25 kg and working in various physical positions. Technical Documentation: Capable of creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation and testing methods for field service use. Additional Requirements Driver's License: Must have a clean driver's license. Fork Truck License: Preferred. Passport: Required for international travel.
