To support our mission, Raytheon Australia is currently seeking a motivated Systems Safety Engineer who is ready to join a diverse, talented, and enthusiastic team of engineering professionals on-site in Exmouth or remotely from Henderson WA or Adelaide SA. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Systems Safety Engineer will set and enforce the safety strategy and provide system safety engineering leadership to the HEH program throughout the engineering lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain the System Safety Program Plan and lead the system safety contribution to the completion of program milestones. - Conduct system safety analysis and deliver associated system safety deliverables in accordance with schedule. - Conduct reviews of supplier safety analysis and associated liaison. - Establish and maintain the integrity of the hazard tracking system. Populate the hazard tracking system as required. - Lead the planning, co-ordination, and conduct of system safety working groups. - Estimate program effort, status, and remaining effort for overall program. - Identify and escalate program risks using defined processes. - Provide significant support to design reviews throughout the program lifecycle. - Key spokesperson on system safety considerations, capabilities, and future direction. - Provide technical mentoring and/or leadership. Provide guidance to other team members on system safety engineering methodology and processes. Skills, Experience and Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent degree with relevant industry experience with qualifications in Systems Safety. - Minimum of eight years' experience in operational and/or in-service support phases of major programs, preferably in Defence technology and/or construction related industries. - Willingness to become and maintain a Chartered Professional Engineering status via Engineers Australia. - Experience making improvements to processes, systems, or products to enhance performance. - Understanding of systems engineering, engineering support, maintenance support, and technical documentation disciplines. - Knowledge of product life cycle and experience with system performance metrics. - Experience with Hazard identification / analysis tools and/or techniques such as: Fault Tree Analysis, Event Tree Analysis & Functional Failure Analysis - Significant experience in: Planning, coordinating, and leading System Safety Working Groups. Preparing Safety Cases and Carrying out hazard identification and analysis tasks including Preliminary Hazard Analysis, Health Hazard Analysis, Operation Support Hazard Analysis, Sub System Hazard Analysis, System Hazard Analysis & Fault Hazard Analysis.
