Experience Designer — Hastings, Mornington Peninsula

Reporting to the Program Director, the Usability and Accessibility Analyst will be responsible for providing input into and delivering on the execution of the Program's User Testing strategy. This role works closely with the Program Team, and IT technical specialists both within the Department and external vendors to ensure that usability and accessibility is considered at each step of the delivery. Additionally, subject matter experts from varied services will be key stakeholders for which this role will need to develop effective relationships. The primary duties and responsibilities of the Usability and Accessibility Analyst are outlined in the "Key Accountabilities and Key Activities" section, with additional support given to the Senior Experience Manager and Program Manager by carrying out any additional tasks at the manager's discretion. As the Usability and Accessibility Analyst, you will be required to work across a number of project streams to: Manage the end-to-end delivery and execution of the Program's User Testing strategy Develop in the detailed User Testing plan in consultation with key internal and external stakeholders Execute the detailed User Testing plan, including scheduling and facilitation of user testing Gather qualitative and quantitative data about users' interactions with the system Ensure adherence to Accessibility standards through each phase of the delivery, from initial designs to end delivery Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend solutions to ensure compliance Review guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining Accessibility compliance Work with technical and business stakeholders to present options for usability or accessibility concerns to ensure successful implementation of deliverables Be the Subject Matter Expert in relation to all aspects of usability and accessibility and the primary point of contact for all queries related to Attendance Liaise with stakeholders to build and maintain strong and effective relationships Work with the Program team to assist in finalising Business and Functional requirements Work closely with the digital access System Integrator (SI) vendor and other vendors as required Supporting the test team with complex process queries and validations Set and review the standards for deliverables created by the project, including external vendors Collaborate with stakeholders to iterate processes and build a common understanding Collaborate with developers and testers to ensure products produced are of high quality Organise, participate in and facilitate meetings/workshops and provide support and follow-up of action items Report on progress of assigned tasks and identify and communicate risks and issues as they arise and work collaboratively to mitigate or resolve them respectively Knowledge & Experience Requirements Essential: Demonstrated experience in end-to-end delivery and execution of a user testing strategy Experience in facilitating end-user testing with a range of users in person and remotely, including the coordination and planning of the user testing activities. Extensive knowledge and experience with WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards and guidelines Experience and knowledge with assistive technologies such as Jaws, Zoom test, magic screen, Windows Eye, NVDA Effective written and oral communication skills Strong understanding of UX and design techniques and principles involved in the production of system designs including prototypes and wireframes Experience using prototyping and wireframing tools to design experiences Commercially sound with strong communication, negotiation and decision-making skills An understanding of user needs and a focus on the business outcomes and business value Excellent facilitation skills across varying business and IT areas Highly developed time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload Complete understanding of agile development methodologies, continuous integration, with short and frequent iterations, the use of showcases and retrospectives A self-starter and team-oriented with a high degree of competency with technical protocols and standards with an ability to adapt to start-up projects and existing architecture Self-motivated and confident in managing relationships with stakeholders at all levels Tertiary qualification (ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT) A WWCC is a mandatory requirement and 3 days a week in the office.
