Our Opportunity To support our ongoing growth, NEPEAN Conveyors NSW are currently seeking a Senior / Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in our design and manufacturing facility in Unanderra, NSW or closest NEPEAN office. Daily duties will typically include: Understanding the operation of industry equipment. (Heavy Bulk Materials Handling Belt Conveyors) Working collaboratively with other team members to deliver goals and targets. Understanding of the mining sector and appropriate design codes and standards. Develop concept designs and prepare reports. Overseeing and directing sub- contractors on projects from conception to completion. Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and budget. Expert knowledge of conveyor systems and design. Represent NEPEAN Conveyors while engaged by our customers on their sites for engineering activities. Assist in developing concepts, calculations, and high-level designs to support tenders and new bids including all aspects associated with the preparation of technical specifications, price inquiries, and tender documents. Manage the monitoring of quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check working drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary. The Right Person The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic and motivated Lead Mechanical Engineer that can build relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders. Have a keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills. The candidate will possess the ability to identify inefficiencies and be able to develop and execute process improvement. To be considered for this opportunity, the right person will have: Bachelor of Engineering Degree in a Mechanical discipline Min 5 years’ experience within a similar role, ideally in bulk material handling background or heavy industrial/mining industry Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline, Mechanical Engineering & Drafting.
