What you'll do Reporting to the Senior Manager - Engineering, the Platform Engineering Lead will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing the software platforms that serve as the foundation for an organisation's applications and services. The successful candidate will be overseeing a team of engineers and collaborating closely with other departments to ensure the platform meets the needs of both internal developers and external users. Lead and manage the platform engineering team, setting clear goals, managing project loads, and ensuring deadlines are met and standards are upheld. Be hands-on when required along with participation in on-call roster. Develop and implement strategies for the platform's architecture, tools, and processes to support scalability, reliability, and efficiency. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the software platform, ensuring it meets current needs and is adaptable for future requirements. Work with the development team to architect scalable, robust solutions that serve as the backbone for application development. Ensure the platform's reliability, uptime, and performance meet the organization's standards and SLAs. Collaborate with other departments, such as Product Management, Operations, and Security, to align the platform's development with company objectives and security policies. Implement and oversee quality assurance processes, including code reviews, automated testing, and performance monitoring, to ensure the platform's reliability and compliance with industry standards. Ensure the platform meets all legal and regulatory requirements related to data privacy, security, and compliance. What you'll bring Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Extensive experience in software development, including hands-on experience with modern programming languages and cloud-based infrastructure. Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of engineers. Strong understanding of software architecture principles, DevOps practices, and Agile methodology. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively across different departments and with external partners. Extensive experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), CI/CD tools, and cloud service providers (AWS preferred). A commitment to staying informed about the latest technology trends and innovations. Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell, as well as programming languages like NodeJS, Java, or Go.
