AGL's Asset Integrity team have an opportunity for a Senior Wind Engineer to lead and develop AGL's Wind capabilities, undertaking and delivering the Energy Hubs' vision. This role will include defining and providing technical support relating to new wind projects being developed by AGL. This includes managing wind monitoring programs, energy yield assessments and wind turbine layouts, while supporting project and development approvals. What you'll be doing: Collaborating with cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams including land, planning, environmental and engineering to support the project activities throughout all phases, particularly wind farm development. Technical support into preparing wind farm technical specifications for EPC (or BOPTSI) contracts, along with contract negotiations. Supporting the execution of innovative engineering strategies for AGL, that are integrated with the market and regulatory position, to optimise AGL's overall asset portfolio. Supporting the construction and commissioning of wind farm projects, including Hold Point testing, Performance Guarantee testing and Reliability testing. Ensuring compliance with relevant HSE legislation, Australian and International standards while meeting the AGL's policies and standards for HSE Management. What you'll bring: A deep understanding of atmospheric physics, boundary layer meteorology and wind flow modelling. Sound knowledge of the power industry and power generation. Understanding of current and future needs in the power industry, including emerging technologies such as energy storage and grid-forming inverters. Knowledge of, and experience with connecting generation to the National Energy Market (NEM). An ability to manage and prioritise expectations of multiple stakeholders. A highly analytical approach to complex engineering data, dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty. Experience: Power engineering - specific knowledge, particular in renewable or new generation and energy storage technologies. 5 years' experience in wind resource assessment and wind farm design. Proficiency with industry-standard wind software packages (e.g. WindPRO, WindFarmer, OpenWind). Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Renewable Energy, or related field. Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia or equivalent professional body.
