What you'd be doing in this role As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve. At the moment, this role is focused on: Understanding project requirements, defining resources, timelines, dependencies, and mitigating risks where possible Managing priorities and stakeholders. This will involve cross-functional liaison across design, engineering, and product management specialties. Evolving processes and implementing workflows to ensure seamless delivery of work Ownership of team platforms and documentation, ensuring clear, consistent, updated and reliable information Learning the latest technical concepts and translating complex topics into actionable steps for the team Initiating improvements and constantly look to connect and optimise our team Partnering with Tech Lead to build a happy, engaged team that personifies Canva's values You're probably a match if: 3 years of experience in a program management, or operational, role with technical experience A background in the creative industries is a bonus Strong written, verbal and visual communication skills. You will be working with a range of roles from junior Ops to senior stakeholders, and strong, influential communication skills are a must. Experience building and managing effective efficient workflows in a collaborative, happy team environment Organised, proactive and solutions-focused management skills Flexibility and adaptability. You're happy to roll up your sleeves with any task, keeping the bigger picture in mind, with no task being too small if it makes the team around you more effective Experience working remotely, across time-zones, locales and languages What you will learn and develop at Canva: You'll have a variety of experiences from getting your hands dirty testing new Canva products to the leadership of cross-functional operational strategies You'll learn how to navigate new product areas alongside an established team with a wealth of existing technical knowledge and expertise You'll be part of a world-class design team, including a strong Design Operations sub-speciality, where you can work with like-minded folks on the latest creative projects About the Team Sitting within the Content Creative group, the tech-focused Design Operations Manager supports the Tech Team which empowers the full group to create the best of Canva's content library - in partnership with various engineering teams across the Global Content Discovery supergroup. Tech Team is the backbone of Content Creative, supporting group-wide strategic priorities through product alignments, workflow optimizations, and delivering overall technical expertise in the content space. You will partner with the Tech Team Lead to triage product alignment requests from stakeholders, manage projects and BAUs running through the team, and discover and implement new ways of working to meet the current business needs. You will create the structures and processes that allow Content Creative's Tech team to excel, this includes understanding project scopes and defining its requirements, juggling priorities and managing various stakeholders, coordinating efforts between technical, design and operation specialists, as well as learning the latest technical concepts and ensuring proper documentation for the team. Additionally, you will be responsible for the creation and implementation of a roadmap, building of relevant workflows, and the establishment of new tooling platforms where required. Alongside Tech Team Lead, you will also collaborate with stakeholders across the company and establish relationships across Product, Engineering, Search and Review, ensuring that Content is ahead of the curve by foreseeing dependencies and mitigating risks on upcoming launches. You will be joining the Design Operations sub-speciality, sitting within the wider Design specialty at Canva. Our role is to provide the structures and processes to facilitate efficient, incredible Creative work. As part of our vibrant and friendly group, you'll have the opportunity to work on the newest Canva products and you'll be an integral part of Canva's creative offering as you help wrangle projects, be a guardian of processes and provide hands-on daily support to the team.
