Senior Project Manager Construction — Macquarie Park, Ryde Area

The business unit, Building Infrastructure Engineering, is primarily focused on meeting current and forecast space, power, and cooling needs within the Optus Technical Facilities. The team, Building Engineering Project Management, is tasked with delivering short-, medium- and long-term infrastructure in a timely and efficient manner that adequately support the business requirements. This role is accountable for identifying shortfalls and solutions, securing management approval, scoping and implementing preferred solutions. Defining the future infrastructure needs and the evolution of the services to meet forecast is key to this role. Success in the role relies upon an ability to perceive future deficiencies in the building infrastructure, be innovative in developing solutions, be able to gain support for the recommended actions and engage appropriate vendors to deliver cost optimally. Your day in the life at Optus Technical Facilities Strategic Plan: Identify, define, and prioritise infrastructure deficiencies. Concept Development and Services Design: Identify solutions to address assessed deficiencies or customer demands requiring alterations to the infrastructure services. Commercial Management: Procure/deliver $5M to $7M or equivalent of technical services solutions per annum. Procurement Management: Align with the Optus procurement policy, procedures, and approvals. Technical Facilities Services: Utilise a well-developed understanding for the relevant standards, codes and regulation associated with the design and construction for building services in critical spaces. Construction Management: Deliver Constructions established to meet the approved Annual Operating Plan on budget to agreed delivery timeframes and Optus build standards. Construction Delivery: Lead power, air conditioning and building Constructions within budget, to agreed delivery timeframes and Optus build standards. Your skills to pay the bills, Tertiary qualifications relevant to the engineering and/or construction of critical facilities infrastructure, Telephone Exchanges or Data Centres. Confirmed experience within a similar role infrastructure, building construction and CAPEX projects. Validated commercial management and sourcing skills. Knowledge of Risk Management procedures. Experience in formulating engineering standards. Shown ability to exercise independent judgment, set direction and lead diverse project teams. Confirmed ability to positively lead employee, contractor and consultant relations in a mutually beneficial manner. Proficient in Project management software. Confirmed experience in contract management.
