Trainer and Assessor - Construction — Kent Town, Norwood Area

We are looking for qualified Trainer/Assessors with a Construction background who will be pivotal in training the next generation of tradespeople. As a Trainer/Assessor - Construction, you will have the opportunity to provide efficient and effective training and assessment to clients. You will assess and address the varied learning need of each student including language, literacy, and numeracy. This position will be based at SYC’s Kent Town site with frequent travel to our Elizabeth site on a permanent full-time, basis. You will work collaboratively with the Training Management Team to deliver best practice training and advise, support, and mentor students to achieve their learning goals. The daily routine activities will include: Assessing and addressing the varied learning needs of each student. Conducting student inductions into the course/qualification. Ensuring all training delivered meets the requirements of the Training Package, industry requirements and VET Quality Framework. Developing and implementing Training and Assessment strategies to maximise client and learning outcomes. Completing and maintaining all training assessment records efficiently and accurately. Monitoring and evaluating student progress. Ensure compliance with SYC Health, Safety, Environmental and Injury Management policies and procedures, and legislation requirements. About You You are someone who has exceptional engagement skills, the ability to interact effectively with students to create enthusiasm, foster trust, cooperation, and support of others to achieve quality outcomes. The successful candidate will also demonstrate: Experience in the construction industry. Time management and organisational skills, including the ability to plan, prioritise and achieve outcomes. ‘Up front’ engaging presentation skills with the ability to adapt one’s approach and maintain effectiveness with a variety of people and situations. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write timely and accurate communications, project notes and reports. For this role, you will need to: Hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor) or diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or be willing to obtain these qualifications. Obtain relevant industry-based qualifications and experience. Hold and maintain an approved First Aid Certificate. Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check and National Police Check. Be eligible to work in Australia. Have a current and valid driver's licence and your own registered vehicle with a 4 or 5 star ANCAP safety rating. Have a flexible approach to the delivery of training on or off site with occasional out of hours work and/or intrastate travel. Where a motor vehicle allowance is provided for the use of the employee’s personal vehicle for work purposes, the employee’s vehicle used must have a safety rating of 4 or 5-star ANCAP or EURO-NCAP to be used for SYC business purposes.
