Wesley College St Kilda Road campus is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Classroom Music Teacher for a full-time, temporary position for Term 4 2024, with a possibility of ongoing employment. The successful applicant will be a capable and passionate classroom music educator who has experience in teaching Years 5-12. The teaching load will include teaching curriculum classroom music, conducting cocurricular ensemble groups and potentially some musical theatre music direction. Experience in delivering the International Baccalaureate (IB) PYP, MYP, and DP program or VCE in the classroom is highly desirable but not essential. A proven ability to lead small or large ensembles including and not limited to big band, concert band, choir, orchestra, and/or musical theatre productions. Expertise in playing a woodwind instrument and or one or more of the following: percussion, strings, piano, brass is essential. The applicant will have the capability to teach across a variety of traditional and/or contemporary instruments in individual and group settings. VIT registration is essential. The successful applicant will work collaboratively in a large team and contribute to a positive work culture. They are abreast of 21st century music pedagogy and continually seek to improve their teaching practice.
