The Faculty of Arts is seeking to appoint an organised and experienced Learning Designer (casual appointment) to provide learning design services in a wide variety of discipline areas. As a casual role, the tasks will be mainly project driven with opportunity to also provide operational and backup support to the continuing Design Learning team in Faculty. Reporting to the Learning Design and Production Lead, and working with other learning design, production and learning management systems colleagues, to provide specialist advice and support to academic and professional staff to review, develop, and implement a range of educational products. This role will assist in developing tailored educational design, and technology-enhanced learning solutions to enable blended, face to face, and online teaching and learning, and ensure continuous curriculum innovation and best practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and driven Learning Designer to enhance and extend the learning and teaching excellence in the Faculty of Arts. Key Accountabilities Provide specialist advice and support to academic staff to enable the review, development, and implementation of changes to educational products in the Faculty, including short courses and micro credentials Develop tailored educational design solutions, based on an understanding of educational and technology issues and methodologies, and working in collaboration with the Faculty and relevant central teams (including the Office of the PVC L&T) Contribute to the development of quality assured curriculum designs and resources for learning for academic staff across the Faculty to enable blended, face to face, and online teaching and learning Contribute to the design and development of bespoke digital artefacts, such as videos, animation and graphic elements for curriculum renewal and innovation Provide operational support, advice and coaching to academic staff across the Faculty in the use of technologies, including iLearn Build and manage relationships with relevant stakeholders across the Faculty and University Contribute to the effective operations of the Macquarie Learning Technologies Platforms (iLearn, ProLearn) as required ABOUT YOU You will have an exceptional knowledge of adult learning principles including online and blended learning pedagogies and proven expertise in the design, preparation and implementation of education programs using web-based platforms and/or content management systems. Your knowledge of project management principles and methodologies, learning management systems and demonstrated experience working with a wide range of web-based applications relevant to an educational environment will ensure your success in this role.
