We are seeking a Front of House / Barista to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who values flexibility while simultaneously pursuing a career in food and beverage service. We are looking for an energetic person who will deliver excellent customer service and sales to all clients and residents. About Us: The Foundry Café on King is part of Newcastle’s first mixed-use Development. Home to Gym on King, Explore & Develop Childcare, 291 on King Hotel and Commercial Operations. The Café is a 7-day operation. Key skills and responsibilities: Warmly great each and every customer and guest; Take and accurately relay guest orders to beverage teams and kitchen; Prepare and serve high-quality coffee with precision and attention to detail; Assisting in light food preparation; Table service duties; Provide answers to all guest related enquiries and questions with poise and professionalism; Maintain a clean, organised and efficient front of house; Uphold our hygiene, health and safety at all times; Use of POS system and cash handling; Deliver catered items within the building. Essential: Must be Barista Certified, trained and experienced; Must have Food Handling Certificate or willingness to obtain one. About You: Demonstrated 12 months or more experience in a similar role; Knowledge of coffee varieties and brewing methods; Energetic, warm customer service; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; Available to work on weekends when required; Exceptional customer service skills and positive “can do attitude”; Must have an excellent work ethic, be well presented and friendly.
