On behalf of our client based in Canberra, we are seeking a permanent Level 3 Social Worker: responsible for providing high level skilled clinical assessments and psychosocial interventions across a range of clinical areas. · Competitive remuneration package and excellent working conditions · Salary packaging with many options available · Flexible working conditions The acute allied health team provides a range of services to patients at the Hospital. The team is responsible for the care and support of patients a across a range of critical and acute care areas, including medical and surgical inpatient wards, intensive care unit, emergency department, maternity and paediatric inpatient wards and a range of adult and paediatric outpatient clinics. The social work team works closely with patients, carers, families, health professionals and multidisciplinary teams to achieve safe and high-quality patient care. This is a full-time permanent position contributing to the roster within the Acute Allied Health Team at the Hospital, which may include and require availability for afterhours/weekend work. Working across a range of services within the hospital, including a new state of the art facility opening later this year. Key Responsibilities - Provide high level skilled clinical assessments and psychosocial interventions across a range of clinical areas, including individual and group work to consumers and carers - Exercise independent professional judgment in solving problems and managing cases where principles, procedures and techniques require expansion, adaptation, or modification - Liaise with patients, carers, and service providers, to enhance and improve clinical outcomes and develop partnerships for health promotion and other service activities identified in the business plan - Provide supervision and education for staff and students. Participating in supervision, continuing professional development and performance management - Actively contribute to the implementation of clinical governance activity, quality improvement projects, research programs and health promotion in areas relevant to service - Participate in team meetings, complete clinical and administrative data collection and case records to a consistent high standard - Practice in accordance with the professional body's code of conduct, practice standards and organisational guidelines and legislative requirements - Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation About You - Relevant tertiary qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' experience working professionally in Social Work - Professional membership or eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) - Availability for weekend and after-hours work on a roster including shutdown - Strong organisational skills with a high degree of drive - Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate change and provide responsive services to meet client's needs - Effective communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to perform novel, complex, critical, or difficult tasks with professional supervision Selection Criteria - Proven knowledge and ability to provide high level skilled clinical psychosocial assessments, counselling, and complex interventions in response to multi-faceted patient needs - High level communication skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external service providers and stakeholders - Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team - Active participation in professional supervision and provide clinical supervision to professional staff and students - Experience in undertaking innovative quality improvement activities through policy review, quality improvement processes and research to develop evidence-based practice - Demonstrated understanding of, and adherence to, safety and quality standards, work, health, and safety (WH&S) and the positive patient experience Salary - $99,819 - 110,398 (plus 11.5% super) per annum Closing Date for Applications - 2 nd June 2024 If this sounds like something of interest please get in touch: Ross Jenkins | Executive Consultant, Social Care Team.
