We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, self-motivated individual to join a professional team who specialises in Early Childhood. This community children's centre is a family environment with a dynamic well-oiled team in place. The suitable candidate will work collaboratively within a vibrant team environment and engage well in support of the educators, parents/families, and the community. This position is responsible for the oversight of expenditure and revenue collections, to support the financial operations of the Community children's centre as well as having exceptional organisation skills to multi-task all areas of the role. The Finance & Administration Officer will be responsible for the organisation and coordination of all administration operations, financials, business and procedures to facilitate organisation, attention to detail and efficiency under the guidance of the Management Committee and the Director. To succeed in this role, you will deliver innovative solutions, and work autonomously with your personal values aligned to the service and all stakeholders professionally, focusing on efficiency, and operations in supporting a positive team culture. Operational Management: Negotiate contract services/utilities, including energy suppliers, cleaning, and waste disposal. Manage insurance matters and claims, including Worker's Compensation. Oversee project-based management of operations and ongoing maintenance of facilities and the Centre. Ensure compliance with facility-related regulations is maintained and kept updated. Across ACECQA regulations for South Australia and changes that are required to be implemented. Key Accountabilities: Oversee Centre financial and commercial operations within budget parameters. Manage accounting functions, including billing, accounts payable, and receivable. Prepare and oversee the annual expense and capital budget. Liaise with banking institutions regarding loans, equity requirements, and repayments. Maintain a rolling profitable strategic budget model, liaising with the Governing Council Committee; balance sheet and profit & loss statement. Payroll - fortnightly. Monthly reconciliations - superannuation, tax records, bank statements, childcare benefits, fee income. Monthly BAS preparation. Financial reporting and controls. Present end-of-month management accounts to the Governing Committee and annual to the AGM Financial management including MYOB transactions processing, Spike transactions for childcare fees, childcare subsidy, receipts and confidential information. Proficient in CCS scheme, and processing of Centrelink gap payments. Manage all financial enquiries - verbal and written. Manage external audit program. Prepare financial reports to the Director and GC committee - balance sheet and profit & loss statement. Prepare financial statements. Maintain fixed asset register. Budget development, implementation, and monthly reporting. Statutory financial reporting - including Periodic Return Weekly recording of attendance and tax invoices. To be successful you will need: Experienced in accounting, data entry, management practices and procedures applied to non-profit organisations. Strong computer skills and knowledge in: Outlook, Excel, MS Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and software packages - MYOB, Spike and the Microsoft Office suite . High-level administrative and organisational skills, including experience with CRM systems, ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver across competing priorities and deadlines. Hold a valid WWC Check RRHAN's Certificate desirable or willing to obtain one. Preferred experience in the Early Childhood Sector or similar. Ability to understand and manage emotions in oneself and others, being a strong leader, resilient and delivering direction consistently. Ability to understand family/parent needs and preferences and make decisions that benefit them as a customer.
