As a DevOps Engineer, you will be integral to the Data Engineering teams, leveraging your expertise to streamline the software development lifecycle. Your role involves managing GIT repositories, implementing effective branching strategies, creating seamless deployment pipelines and ensuring the security and availability of production environments during deployments. Key Responsibilities: Collaborative SCRUM Participation: Actively engage in SCRUM teams to achieve key BAU activities and milestones from the Project Roadmap and Data Engineering Strategy; Meeting Facilitation: Lead feasibility studies, requirements gathering, user acceptance, demonstrations and other meetings with team members and clients; Deployment Pipeline Development: Design, develop and maintain fully automated deployment pipelines using CI/CD methodologies, along with test plans and pipeline status dashboards; Automation and Integration: Develop automation and integration solutions to support data engineering functions; Azure Resource Management: Deploy, configure and manage Azure resources necessary for DevSecOps operations; ITSM Integration: Work within ITSM processes, integrating automation to enhance the efficiency and usability of deployment pipelines; Incident Management: Participate in rotating incident management duties, troubleshooting and resolving incidents, conducting RCAs, configuring monitoring and creating troubleshooting guides; Operational Remediation: Address and document operational incidents, project risks and impediments, escalating them as necessary; and Platform Enhancement: Conduct technical research, POCs and analysis to contribute to platform improvements and feasibility studies for new features. Skills and Capabilities: Deployment Technologies: Proficiency with Azure DevOps, GIT, Bicep, YAML, etc.; Programming Languages: Strong skills in interpreted languages (PowerShell, JavaScript, Python) and compiled languages (C#); Microsoft Azure: Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure; Software Design Patterns: Knowledge of SOLID principles, GoF design patterns, Enterprise Software Architecture, etc.; Technical Documentation: Ability to create technical documentation, UML diagrams, DFDs, BPMN, etc.; Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in a self-organising team, providing high-quality advice and project support; Deployment Strategies: Understanding of CI/CD, Infrastructure-as-code, serverless deployments, containerisation, rollback strategies and high availability releases; and Testing Methodologies: Familiarity with various testing methodologies, including unit tests, regression tests, integration tests, functional tests, acceptance tests, smoke tests and test plans.
