The Ideal Teacher The successful applicant will ideally be able to create an effective, engaging, and inclusive learning environment based on high expectations. They will have an understanding of appropriate assessments and be able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching programs, set targets and plan for differentiated learning opportunities for all students in their class aligned strongly to the Western Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework. This role will suit someone who is highly motivated, relationship-focused, and passionate about creating exciting learning experiences to engage students. We ideally require a teacher who values relationships with students and the community, someone who can work effectively with all our stakeholders to achieve the best educational outcomes for students. A sound knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, WebEx, Heggerty and Letters and Sounds is ideal but is not essential. This role will include planning with consideration given to with the following: Whole school approaches and policies; Development of student programmes and online lessons; Regular feedback to parents and home tutors regarding student achievements; Home visits to students with overnight stays as required; School camps with overnight stays as required; Our School Kalgoorlie SOTA is the largest primary school in Western Australia by area, covering over 750 000 square kilometres catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Most of our students are geographically isolated, living in remote locations. The school is very well resourced and located in Boulder in a charming building that is over 110 years old with well-maintained grounds and student playgrounds. Our relatively low student numbers allow our team of educator’s opportunities to individualise the curriculum to meet the students' needs.
