The Role As Payroll & HR Administrator, you will be responsible for processing payroll for employees, and processing the related job costings for each pay period. You will also be responsible for the administration of all HR processes, including onboarding and offboarding. This position requires high attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll functions, particularly within the construction industry. We are seeking a positive, confident and proactive individual with a high attention to detail and accuracy (even when under pressure), strong organisational skills and a thorough understanding of payroll functions, particularly within the construction industry. You will play a pivotal role within a tight knit, supportive team and will be provided with support and training to excel in the role. This is a part time role (30 hours) with some flexibility. Note the candidate MUST be able to work 8 hours every Monday & Tuesday however balance of hours may be worked by negotiable arrangement (all hours in office, WFH not available) Your core responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Payroll: Accurate and timely finalisation of weekly timesheet records for 85 personnel (utilising Employment Hero). Accurate and timely preparation and processing of fortnightly payroll. On alternating fortnights, prepare and upload job costings from the pay period into the financial system. Manage intricate aspects of payroll such as allowances and leave entitlements, Child Support payments, QLeave and Long Service Leave entitlements, and Super contributions. Maintaining a working knowledge & remaining informed about changes in payroll laws, relevant awards and regulations and ensuring compliance. Prepare and maintain all payroll reporting including fortnightly and annual reporting. Maintaining and continuously improving payroll processes and documented procedures. Human Resources Administration: Prepare HR documentation for various departments and assist with recruitment, such as drafting job advertisements and screening applications. End-to-end onboarding, and offboarding administration. Provide assistance to employees and participate in specific HR projects under the guidance of the CFO and/or HR Manager. Monitor and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the HR records and HR platform. All ad hoc HR, people and culture administrative duties. Training & Safety Administration: Develop relationships with training providers, book training sessions, maintain completed training records and assist in identifying suitable training materials / opportunities for employees. Assist in delivering new employee office inductions and provision of uniforms and PPE. Administration support relating to workers compensation claims and cases. Drafting and reviewing safety communications, such as Toolbox Talks, Alerts and Bulletins. The candidate The successful candidate will possess the following skills, attributes, and experience: Minimum 5 years payroll experience in a medium size business (>75 employees) and demonstrated experience in HR administration. Ability to multitask, prioritise workload and pay attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines essential Excellent verbal and written communication skills Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook) Exceptional interpersonal skills Experience with Employment Hero and Jobpac highly regarded but not essential Experience in Construction industry regarded highly but not essential SBP Australia are looking to invest in a long-term team member that wants to build a successful career.
