Nau mai haere mai ki tā mātou whanau |Welcome to our Fulton Hogan As the Driver trainer for our medium and heavy truck drivers, you will play a crucial role in improving operational efficiency of our transport fleet that makes a significant contribution to the organisation, reducing risks, safeguarding our workforce and assets, and supporting our carbon emissions reduction initiatives, including future training development. This role involves a combination of office-based work, on-site training sessions, and outdoor practical assessments across Auckland and wider North Island. This role is Auckland based; however, we will consider suitable candidates who are based in Hamilton or the Bay of Plenty. In addition to the above, you'll: Develop and deliver comprehensive SAFED and other medium and heavy truck vehicle training for our fleet transport drivers Utilise a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and ensure effective knowledge transfer Conduct training sessions both in classroom settings and on-site practical training environments Manage practical and theoretical assessments to evaluate drivers' skills and knowledge Be a trusted mentor and coach and provide constructive feedback to drivers on areas for improvement and reinforce best practices Maintain accurate records of training and assessment outcomes for compliance and reporting purposes Ensure all training and assessment activities adhere to company safety policies, industry regulations, and relevant legislation Identify safety hazards and risks associated with driving vehicles and implement measures to mitigate them Promote a safety-first culture among drivers through effective communication and training initiatives This role will require extensive travel to provide training across the North Island Good Work equals Good Benefits Company Vehicle Medical insurance for you and your family Life insurance from day one KiwiSaver employer contributions after service milestones up to 7% Fuel discount card Parental leave top up payment with additional return to work support Family scholarships Ongoing training and development, career growth and progression opportunities Great discounts at a wide range of retailers At Fulton Hogan we truly care about the wellbeing of our people and giving them the tools, they need to succeed. We're looking for someone with: Demonstrated experience as a trainer and assessor licensed by the New Zealand Transport Association as a current instructor for heavy motor vehicles Ideally you will hold a SAFEDNZ Driver Instructor licence Current and valid drivers' licence with endorsements relevant for Class 5 and an 'I' endorsed drivers licence holder In-depth knowledge of civil construction vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to road transport trucks Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to driving and operating medium and heaving vehicles and machinery Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
