We are rapidly growing our Melbourne Design Centre and are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Aerospace and Mechanical Engineers to join our Port Melbourne team onsite to support Boeings commercial aircraft products. With multiple forecasted rate ramps and new engineering statement of work including part of the 777X, 787, 737 and Boeing next generation aircraft development of programs such X-66A demonstrator program in collaboration with NASA and other Boeing functions. About the role : Depending on the role, responsibilities may include,: - Develop, integrate and document structural requirements to establish the system design - Coordinate with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment - Guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance - Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyses/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications - Defines and documents certification and test to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied - Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analysing improvements - Develops analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality and efficiency of the development effort - Develops, maintains and modifies structural component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle - Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals - Develops new design processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality and efficiency of aircraft development effort - Technical leadership and business acumen of engineering activities Basic qualifications (required skills / experience): - Bachelor's of Engineering, ideally Aerospace or Mechanical - Relevant technical experience in structural analysis, design, and system engineering - Experience with Finite Element Models (FEM) - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Demonstrated skills in problem solving - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Excellent cross-functional teaming, collaborative problem solving, building lasting relationships & proficiency in written and verbal communication - Experience using CAD software, with CATIA V5 software experience highly desirable Please note that applicants must have full Australian working rights. Classification Level: This is an Enterprise Agreement position classified as Engineer / Scientist E1B, E2A or E2B.
