Senior Electronics Design Engineer — Barton, South Canberra

Canberra based, full time permanent role Leading Australian startup in the aerospace industry Attractive performance-based bonus scheme This is an opportunity to join a leading Australian startup in the aerospace industry where you will have the opportunity to design, implement and deliver complex electrical/electronics systems and learn from top Australian engineers in power management, microwave, RF and aerospace systems. About the role The role is a professional engineering role designing and developing flight and ground based electrical and electronic systems and working through the complete project delivery. You will be working with other engineers to adapt your designs to integrate with other systems, and therefore the ability to write and communicate effectively will be a key aspect of the role. The role is located in Canberra, ACT and requires mainly on-site attendance as it is a hardware development role. Relocation assistance is available. Role Purpose As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for: • Designing, developing, and implementing electrical/electronics systems and solutions • Participating in the entire product development cycle, from design to testing to deployment • Mentoring junior engineers and working closely with the design team to ensure that the electrical subsystems are integrated with other systems and meet the overall requirements. Important Information: Must have Australian Permanent Residence or Australian citizenship . Access to technology controlled under USA ITAR is required so your nationality history may limit eligibility. Based in the Canberra office and is unsuitable for remote workers . Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required 5 years of experience in a similar role Expertise with Altium Designer, OrCAd or similar PCB design tools Previous experience with hardware and PCB design for RF / high-speed / embedded / aerospace applications for extreme environments Hands-on experience in hardware testing, rework, and debugging Self-motivated, innovative, enthusiastic with a record of self-development Strong problem-solving skills and effective verbal and written communication skills Able to deliver assigned goals and meet project deadlines Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with distinction average MCS Consulting has been a trusted Recruitment advocate for over 25 years to many companies in high value Manufacturing, Finance, R&D, IT&T and Government.
